Billy Russo joined the Authority as a Director of Operations. He grew up in Garner, NC. Billy graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management with a concentration in Operations and Facilities. His previous experience includes a two year internship in athletic operations and facilities at Wake Forest University (2005-2007) where he worked with game day operations for football, men's basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer among other ACC sports. Also at Wake Forest Billy worked numerous athletic events including ACC and NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments, the 2005 NCAA Field Hockey Elite Eight, and was on the operations staff for the 2007 1st and 2nd round of the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament in Winston-Salem, NC. He served as a recreation facility manager in the High Point University Recreation Center (2007) where he supervised student workers, as well as the gym, cardio room, and weight room.
While an undergrad at High Point, Billy worked as a Student Assistant Coach for three years with the High Point University men's basketball team (2004-2007) with responsibilities in assisting in basketball operations. Billy graduated with a Masters of Science in Sport Studies from High Point University in May 2009.
Billy is married to the former Amanda Matthews. They reside in Martinsville.
Deborah Scearce joined the Authority in January 2008 as the Office Manager/Executive Assistant and is a native of Henry County. She has most recently served as the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO of J. W. Burress, Inc. in Roanoke (1999-2007) and as an Administrative Assistant and Inventory Control Specialist for Tultex, Inc. in Martinsville from 1987-1999.She is a graduate of Patrick Henry Community College with AAS degrees in Business Technology Management and Administrative Support Technology with minors in General Business, Clerical Studies and Office Assisting. She is also a graduate of Fieldale-Collinsville High School.
Deborah is married to Jim with a daughter, Kristin, a Psychology graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University.
While an undergrad at Emory & Henry, Amanda was Director of Sports for the W-EHC 90.7 The Buzz, Sports Editor for the yearbook, Assistant Producer and Graphic's Technician for the college television station, and reporter for the college website.
Amanda is the daughter of Terry Duffy and Bernie Gray Jr. and resides in Martinsville.
Patrick Francisco, Facility Manager
Patrick Francisco joined the Authority in May 2010 as the Facility Manager and is a native of Henry County. He graduated from Virginia Tech with an Associate Degree in Turfgrass Management/Landscape Contracting. His previous experience includes serving as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendant at Winding Creek Golf Course for 12 years. He has also worked at Chatmoss Country Club for numerous years.
Patrick is married to Melissa Francisco and is the proud father of two daughters Alexis and Serena.
